Travellers Again

I love to travel. That sounds like such an obvious statement. I mean, who doesn’t love travelling? Okay, so travelling can mean scrambling to organize household and work before departing, being uncomfortable for hours on a plane (if you’re flying economy–which I for sure am), jet lag, unpredictability, getting lost, risking getting sick from bad water or food, leaving a beloved pet behind, falling behind on work, and probably overspending.

But, oh, it’s so worth it!

Sean and I just returned from a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. It was on a 17-day group tour with a travel company called G Adventures. Our locations, travel between, hotels, and some activities were organized for us and led by a main guide named Kosal who went with us everywhere, as well as local guides who took us to specific sites. We had a lot of free time and optional activities, so it was a great blend of structure and freedom. I’ve done adventurous travel before, and have been on organized group tours, but this was all new for Sean. I think he’s up for more now!

Oh, and did I mention this was my 50th bday and our 20th wedding anniversary celebration trip?

Note that the photos aren’t in order because the system messed it up. But you’ll get the picture(s) ;).
